Contact: Sound Control is Maximized in Seattle's Millennium Tower with Installation of Enkasonic Sound Control Matting and FIRM-FILL 2010®Newport Beach, CA -January 24, 2002: Residents and workers in the Millennium Tower, a 20-story office and luxury condominium building located at the heart of Seattle's Business District, enjoy not hearing their neighbors activities, thanks to FIRM-FILL 2010 and Enkasonic Sound Control Matting. Special consideration was given to sound control during the building's construction, which provided a unique opportunity for Gyptech American Heritage, a Licensed Applicator of Hacker Floor Underlayments. With an installation of 62,576 square feet of FIRM-FILL 2010 Gypsum Concrete floor underlayment over Enkasonic Sound Control Matting, Gyptech American Heritage provided the solution for both sound control and a firm, flat, high strength floor surface, ensuring homeowners and office workers a quieter environment. FIRM-FILL 2010 is a high-strength, non-structural gypsum concrete that is mixed onsite and pumped in place rapidly and efficiently. Formulated specifically for use in condominiums, custom homes and commercial buildings where additional surface hardness is needed, FIRM-FILL 2010 provides compressive strengths from 1600 to 2500 psi and possesses excellent STC and IIC sound ratings. When installed over Enkasonic Sound Control Matting, the sound transmission between floors is further decreased as Enkasonic's open structure creates a void in the floor's construction that breaks the sound transmission between the floor-ceiling assembly. Prior to awarding Gyptech American Heritage the project, Martin Smith Development, the building's owner and Hoffman Construction Company, the General Contractor, previewed an installation of FIRM-FILL 2010 in an adjacent building before committing to the use of the gypsum concrete and sound matting in the Millennium Tower.
