The Yellowstone Club - Private Custom Home

Once again, PERMAFLOORS, INC’s expertise and knowledge of GYP-SPAN Radiant proved to be just what the doctor ordered for an 11,000-square-foot private custom home in the exclusive community of the Yellowstone Club in Big Sky, Montana.

Situated in an expansive valley with surrounding views of Yellowstone National Park and the Gallatin Mountains, the Yellowstone Club is a homeowners dream with pristine views of unparalleled beauty. With ski-in/ski-out access to the "private powder" of the Yellowstone Club ski runs and the serenity of envied mountain grace, the overall comfort of this home could not be complete without the installation of radiant heated floors to defrost cold feet after a long day on the slopes.

A Licensed Applicator of Hacker Floor Underlayments since 1995, PERMAFLOORS, INC. was asked by General Contractor, Voyager Construction, to pour GYP-SPAN Radiant in the private residence.

"Our reputation for delivering superb floor underlayments, especially GYP-SPAN Radiant, our ability to work quickly, and our previous experience with Voyager Construction landed us the job," said Steve Hasterlik, president of PERMAFLOORS, INC.

Since the home was situated on the side of a mountain 9,00 feet high, preplanning was extremely important to deliver approximately 400 bags of GYP-SPAN Radiant to the job site. With narrow roads, PERMAFLOORS, INC. instructed the freight truck to drop off the gypsum concrete above the house, then they used a crane to take the pallets 100 feet down to the residence.

The job also required PERMAFLOORS, INC. to pour over a plywood subfloor that was damaged from high construction traffic and bad weather. The PERMAFLOORS, INC. crew installed 7,876 square feet of GYP-SPAN Radiant, which leveled the uneven spots and repaired the damaged subfloor throughout the house in just two days.

GYP-SPAN Radiant created a level, flat, energy efficient surface and proved to be ideal for locking the radiant heat tubes in place during construction.
